You will be met by an African Mountain Safaris representative upon your arrival in JRO. The representative will transfer you to a hotel in Arusha.

Day 1: Arusha/Tarangire

After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Tarangire National Park for game drives. A picnic lunch will be provided. Tarangire National Park is spectacular and it is well known for its large herds of elephant population. Late in the afternoon we will drive back to the lodge.


Day 2: Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we will leave the resort with a picnic lunch and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater exploring the short grass plains of the largest intact caldera in the world. The crater enjoys its enduring charm, which stems from the overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife that are permanent residents on the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles that is alive with lions, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many game. In the late afternoon, we will leave the crater and drive back to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.


Day 3: Lake Manyara/Arusha/Departure

After breakfast, we leave with a picnic lunch and go for a game drive in Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos and colorful birds. In the afternoon we will drive back to Arusha and proceed to the airport to connect with your flight back home.

After breakfast, we will leave Arusha with a picnic lunch and head to the Serengeti National Park, with an en-route game drive from Ngorongoro to Serengeti. Optional ($60/vehicle) visit of Maasai Village, and optional ($36/person) visit to Olduvai Gorge. Afternoon game drive in Serengeti savannah.


Day 2: Serengeti

After breakfast, we will leave for a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The Park contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale that has no parallel anywhere in the world. There is an abundance of herbivores. Serengeti is also famous for lions and contains a wide variety of birdlife, believed to be in the region of 350 species. In the afternoon, proceed on a game drive in search of wildlife. Afternoon game drives in the park. Lunch will be at the camp or as a picnic lunch while on game drive.


Day 3: Serengeti / Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we will be on another game drive in Serengeti in search for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed in the rolling plains of Serengeti Savannah. Later, we will drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight. Lunch will be at the camp or as a picnic lunch while on the game drive.


Day 4: Ngorongoro / Arusha

After breakfast, with a picnic lunch we will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater exploring the short grass plains of the largest intact caldera in the world. After breakfast, we will leave with a packed picnic lunch and go for a game drive in Lake Manyara. The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos and colorful birds. Alternative (instead of game drive safari in Manyara) After breakfast, we drive to nearby Mto wa Mbu area (4+ miles from Manyara Park’s gate) to do an approximately two hour cultural tour which will include visiting banana or rice plantations as well as a walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants. In the afternoon we will drive to the lodge in Karatu town for dinner and overnight.


Day 3: Karatu/ Serengeti

After breakfast, we will leave with a picnic lunch for an en-route game drive to central Serengeti. During our game drive we will search for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed with an optional ($60/group) visit of Maasai village, and optional ($36/person) visit to Olduvai Gorge. The afternoon game drive in Serengeti will be in the rolling plains of Serengeti savannah.

After breakfast, we proceed to more game drives in Serengeti in search for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed in the rolling plains of Serengeti savannah. Day 6: Ngorongoro/ Arusha

Day 4: Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, we will leave for a full day game drive towards northern Serengeti (close to the Mara River). This is a unique location to witness the Wildebeest Migration. The Migration is comprised of millions of wildebeest, zebra and other resident animals all year round in the area ungulates congregate on the northern Serengeti plains around the Mara River with a possibility of witnessing the crossing. The crossing takes takes place from July to November each year. Lunch will be at the lodge/camp or as a picnic lunch while on game drive.


Day 5: Serengeti

After breakfast, we will leave with a picnic lunch for morning game drives in northern Serengeti exploring the rolling plains of Serengeti National Park. We will be in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed, then later in the day we will leave and go for an on route game drives towards central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.


Day 6: Serengeti/ Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we will leave for a game drive in the central Serengeti. Later in the afternoon we will leave and proceed to an en-route game drive to Ngorongoro with optional ($60/group) visit of Maasai village, and optional ($36/person) visit to Olduvai Gorge.
